Movistar Riders beat DESTRUCTORS in two maps, 16-8 on Dust2 and 16-7 Nuke, to secure a spot at the Moche XL Esports event in Portugal.
The match started on David "Kairi" de Miguel’s mix-team’s map, Dust2, but it was Movistar Riders who were able to take the first round of the match. A CZ75 double followed by three AK frags by Sergio "sergi" Araque Cebrián gave DESTRUCTORS the second round. Having bought pistols, frags by Christopher "MUTiRiS" Fernandes and Francesc "donQ" Savall Garcia followed by a plant forced DESTRUCTORS back to save on the third round of the map. From there on out, Movistar Riders won five rounds in a row for a 6-1 lead before DESTRUCTORS could stop them as Kairi and Miguel "Blastinho" Llombart won a 2vs2 afterplant against MUTiRiS and Juan "meisoN" Carlos Chacón. Kairi then started the next round with a double, but Movistar Riders were able to win a 3vs5 playing towards A thanks to doubles by MUTiRiS and donQ. DESTRUCTORS were able to take a couple more rounds, but Movistar Riders closed the half out with a hefty 10-5 lead.
Movistar Riders then won the second pistol round on an A push from DESTRUCTORS, but just as in the first half, they then gave the second round up to the forcebuy. They gave up the following round, as well, but Alejandro "mopoz" Fernández-Quejo Cano & co. quickly got back to winning ways once they had money to get fully armed, taking it all the way to 16 giving up a single round for an 16-8 score at the map’s end.
Nuke started off, once again, with Movistar Riders taking the pistol round, this time on the attacking side. The Spanish-Portuguese side then won the first gun round with a quad-kill by MUTiRiS. Movistar Riders then went on to take a 5-0 lead before the teams traded several rounds until Riders wore DESTRUCTORS’ economy down and won several rounds in a row. The switch on Nuke came with the same score as on Dust2, 10-5 for Movistar Riders.
DESTRUCTORS were finally able to get a pistol round, taking the T-side pistol round on Nuke to bring it back to 7-10 before losing to a full-eco by Movistar Riders which was the beginning of the end as MUTiRiS and co. went to close it out after that winning six rounds in a row for a 16-7 map and 2-0 series which means Riders will be at the Moche XL Esports finals in Lisbon on June 9-10.
